This is the first new piece of 2015. It’s inspired by the color palette for Artful Home, a catalog with which I work- for Spring 2015. In order to get me inspired in color, they often send me swatches of the colors of fabrics used in their Apparel selection for each season. From these colors, I blend and add/subtract to come up with a pleasing combination that will match their clothing as well as be true to my own sense of color. This is tubular herringbone stitch, threaded with soft wire to create a dynamic twisting form. Extending the form, in the color palette of the seed beads, I have strung rodocrosite, jade, olive jade, turquoise and recycled African glass beads. It’s 18″ around and very light.
